The use of DNA information makes breeding more accurate.
The result is up to 40% faster genetic progress. It also makes breeding for specific characteristics easier, for example reproduction, disease resistance and meat quality.
For TN70, the combined genetic progress in reproduction, production and carcass quality has increased the margin per finisher with €4.5 during the last 5 years.
We see even lower dead born. TN70 farrows really easy.

Topigs Norsvin takes into account the current and future demands of society regarding good animal welfare practices and sustainable animal production. This is evidenced by our breeding goals that include good mothering abilities, focus on piglet survival, and productivity to higher parities.
We support sustainable production with limited use of antibiotics
drugs and an optimal health and well-being of our pigs.
Topigs Norsvin adopts a hands-on approach by developing feed manuals and guidelines and then assisting customers and their feed providers in implementing these on the farm. The belief is that we know what our animals need, and we want to share this with all of our customers and their feed providers. The TN70 gilt and sow is a unique female and needs to be fed and reared according to the Topigs Norsvin recommendations to be able to fully benefit from her genetic potential.
