We are fully committed to contributing to responsible and sustainable pig production for future generations. Sustainability is a main driver for our breeding goals, research, and support. We provide our customers with the tools they need for responsible and sustainable pork production.

We are aware of the concerns about the environment, food safety and animal welfare. So we breed pigs that meet these challenges. We partner up with our customers to find the best solution for their situation.

Topigs Norsvin signed a letter of commitment with Science Based Targets initiative to set near-term goals for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in line with the 1.5 degree Celsius pledge.

Furthermore, our genetic progress leads to a substantial reduction in environmental impact at our customers’ farms. The progress of all traits in the breeding goal has led to an annual 2% increase in feed efficiency. This means that less feed is needed for the same amount of pork, less land is needed to produce this feed, the pigs produce less manure, and fewer greenhouse gases are produced.
