How We're Governed
Topigs Norsvin operates as a farmer-owned cooperative with a two-tier governance model designed to ensure strategic oversight and operational excellence.
From the Head Office in 's-Hertogenbosch in The Netherlands, the company has operations in 23 countries.
Shareholder Structure
Topigs Norsvin is jointly owned by two farmer cooperatives: Topigs (The Netherlands) and Norsvin (Norway). Each cooperative represents hundreds of pig farmers who are the ultimate owners of Topigs Norsvin.
Both cooperatives maintain their own membership structures and Supervisory Boards, ensuring that farmer voices from both countries guide our strategic direction.
This dual-cooperative ownership model ensures:
- Long-term thinking over short-term profit
- Farmer perspectives drive decision-making
- Genetic progress benefits flow directly back to member-owners
- Operational independence while maintaining cooperative values
